Kasabian

Have you ever wanted to see someone on the stage so bad that you build up expectations impossible to fulfil? Kasabian’s gig in the Positivus 2015 festival wasn‘t the case. Even if you have watched them perform several times, the band keeps surprising in each one of them, seemingly building up pressure of the energy even before they step on the stage.

Being named as the best live band uncountable times, receiving British music awards and being headliners in many worldwide events such as Glastonbury Festival, Kasabian continue to impress the crowd with all-in performances, bringing they “A-game“ every time. Playing songs from their latest studio album 48:13, they didn‘t forget to include some lovable and well-known compositions like Cameo‘s Word Up, but in their own unique way, forgetting about the expected way anything should be done. Many times compared to indie-rock bands, members of Kasabian hate the comparison. They see themselves just as a rock band. But the truth is listeners do not even care in which frame their favourite band should be locked up, they are in a great hunger to experience their insuperably moving spirit and receive the heartfelt energy from the stage. Dancing, screaming and singing along with Kasabian‘s contemporary lyrics is all the audience need.

Tom Meighan, the lead of the group, deeply enjoys every note and even more the crowd‘s response. We can almost see a hint of tears in his eyes, when winded up the crowd is singing a part of Kasabian‘s song‘s lyrics just to get them back on the stage. A bright massive gold cross on Tom‘s neck visibly demonstrates his religiousness and a habit putting everything in God‘s hands, but at the same time continuing to fight for progress like an unstoppable warrior. At the end of his performance, truly leaving him all out on the stage, Tom thanks the crowd and looks in the sky, pointing fingers up-wards as an acknowledging that it was all in God‘s hands.

Just as religious Tom Meighan is, guitarist and vocalist Sergio Pizzorno is born to entertain and take over the crowd with his craziness. From the first song till the very last one he never stopped moving. Sergio was the only one of 14 bands‘ members on the main stage who actually came down to the fans and wasn‘t afraid to shake few hands and give out some high-fives. The audience absolutely loved him and even reached the hands so high it almost convinced Sergio to do some crowd-surfing.

Five studio albums, 18 years of experience and countless gigs played - Kasabian truly earned their success. If you are not familiar with the band we strongly suggest you find out more. But if you want to experience the true craftsmanship of the unbelievably charismatic British band, you should definitely embrace the feeling being one of the crowd. It doesn’t ‘t matter if you are in the front or the last row, energy bursts through any psychical substance and reach directly in to your soul, fulfilling the empty spot you didn‘t ever know you had.
